Ozone is a far stronger oxidiser than chlorine and leaves no lasting by-product — it reverts to oxygen. Its weakness has never been the chemistry. It is the delivery: ozone is a gas, and conventional injection loses a large share of it at the surface before it has dissolved.
Nanobubbles change that arithmetic. Bubbles under 200 nm do not rise and burst, so far more of the ozone you generate actually enters solution and does oxidation work. That is the entire proposition of this system, and it is compared honestly on Nanobubbles vs conventional ozone.
The underlying mechanism is explained on gas transfer with nanobubbles.
Worth being straight about where each sits. Chlorine is cheap and leaves a residual in the basin, which ozone does not. UV destroys chloramines that already exist but has no effect outside the reactor. Ozone out-oxidises both and leaves nothing behind — which is a strength for water quality and a limitation if a persistent residual is what the regulation demands.
In practice ozone is specified where oxidation capacity and water quality matter more than residual, and it is often paired with a small residual from another source.
Ozone is hazardous to breathe, so off-gas handling is part of the system design rather than an accessory. The unit is built in SS 316L for the duty. Destruction of excess ozone before the water returns, and monitoring of the air above it, are specified per installation — ask any ozone supplier, including us, to show you exactly how they handle this before you compare prices. What a buyer should require is set out on standards and compliance.
Four numbers let us answer properly instead of sending a brochure: water volume, circulation flow rate (or turnover time), whether the installation is indoor or outdoor, and your current treatment and chemical spend.
With those we can confirm whether this system is the right size, whether it is a straightforward retrofit, and what it will cost to run over five years — including telling you when a different model, or none at all, is the better answer. Request a quote.
Send us your water volume, circulation flow rate and current setup and we will confirm whether this is the right size — or point you at a different model in the range.
